A Dark and Stormy Week
This spring/summer time in our part of Kentucky has been wet. Really wet. The first year we moved to Lexington it was like this. The year we moved to a new house and had new grass it was dry, of course, because we needed to water. This year my husband wants to use his new toy—a robot lawnmower. And it’s been raining almost every day.
I mean it’s not Seattle rain, where a rainy day is all day. It’s more Florida rain, where it rains for a few hours and clears. However, unlike Florida, we’re staying cloudy enough that it doesn’t evaporate and the ground stays damp—too damp for the mower to run easily.
Personally, I love rain. I miss the weather in the Pacific Northwest. Granted, that weather is changing and I appreciate that here I have decent air conditioning so that I can sleep at night. Believe me, with the humidity that’s been hanging around, we need it even if it isn’t super hot. It’s uncomfortable outside.
But all that dreariness is perfect for a slightly creepy read. And yes, I am in another group book sale, this time with the first book in my Appalachian Souls Duology. Check out the sale here. You’ll find everything from true horror to some paranormal mysteries. Souls Lost is a particularly creepy mystery.
As always enjoy your reading.
