Traveling Soon

I am heading off for a writer’s workshop in Las Vegas this weekend. I’m looking forward to it.

I love reading gothic novels and some of mine sort of edge into the realm of Gothic. There’s something wonderful about the atmospheric tension where things are always about to happen. It’s always a stretch for me to see how far I can push things not happening but the expectation that something will and not lose the thread.

I hope to learn more about the genre and perhaps improve my ability to write in the genre. The challenge will be writing several short stories in a genre that I always prefer to write long! But then again, that’s what workshops are for—to challenge us.
